The visitor survey available now emphasises the positive assessment of ProWein 2005, which ended a week ago and registered 2,754 participating exhibitors from 40 countries and more than 28,500 trade visitors. “Three major indicators clarify the increased quality of ProWein,” Klaus Henrich, ProWein Project Leader explains. “First, the trade visitor quota rose by three percentage points to 95 percent. Second, the ratio of international visitors has increased also and lies now at 19 percent. Third, 97 percent of the trade visitors are very happy with the results of ProWein. Another striking factor is the great average length of the visits, which is 1.7 days,” Klaus Henrich continues. The high level of professionalism and decision-making competency of the ProWein visitors (66 percent) is also reflected in the professional ranking of the trade visitors: 44 percent of the experts are self-employed, 12 percent are department heads and nine percent are managing directors of their respective companies.
As far as the ranking of the offer interest from the visitors’ point of view is concerned – multiple entries are possible – Germany holds a leading position with 54 percent. This is followed by: Italy (38 percent), France (32 percent), Spain (28 percent), Chile (19 percent), South Africa (18 percent), Australia and Austria (17 percent each), California (15 percent), Portugal (11 percent) and Argentina (10 percent). 19 percent of the visitors were interested in spirits, 16 percent in champagne, 11 percent in sparkling wine and 15 percent in accessories.
