Consorzio Tutela Del Vino Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco
Virtual Wine Course on Prosecco Superiore
From today, you can get to know about our wine online and you can even take a test to check how much you have learned. The idea comes from the Producers’ Consortium for Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, which has created the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Academy. “Today’s new technologies represent an efficient instrument for communicating with consumers, members of the wine trade and journalists all over the world and a modern wine like Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore certainly can’t ignore them” maintains the president of the Consorzio, Innocente Nardi. “For this reason we have devised a project that is unique of its kind, which will give people all over the world correct information about Italy’s favourite sparkling wine – even those who will never have the chance to come and visit our region”.
The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Academy, a real virtual wine syllabus, is being inaugurated today (22nd January, 2013) with a basic course lasting 12 minutes. Thanks to tutors Giulia Pussini, Giancarlo Vettorello, Aurora Endrici, Filippo Taglietti, Debora Franceschi and Simone Vincenzi, this course explains the denomination, the characteristics of the region and of the grape varieties, the method used for making sparkling wine, how to taste and how to match the wines with food. But there’s more. The Academy will soon offer its “students” an actual test to confirm just how much they have learned. The project has been created by Newton 24, a subsidiary of the “Sole 24 Ore” Group specializing in training and education, under the guidance of Andrea Notarnicola, a professional consultant with a great deal of experience in projects such as Illy’s “Coffee Academy”.
The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Academy has been devised with didactic and informational aims in mind, especially for those who do not have the possibility to visit the region in person. In fact, the video offers an authentic virtual visit to the production area. Apart from being an exceptional educational tool - which will be available throughout the world in three languages, Italian, English and German – the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Academy is also a precious instrument for communication within the zone.
Indeed, every producer in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore denomination will publicize it and use it for training its agents, importers and company personnel, as well as for its clients. Conegliano Valdobbiadene’s primary ambassadors, in fact, are the 166 producers who, every day and all around the world, promote the 70 million bottles produced in the denomination.
