On November 21st, 2015 took place the contest called "I Pisani più Schietti", now at its XVII edition, an event that the Pisan delegation FISAR dedicates to the production of the wine district of Pisa, electing the best wines by category.
Many wines have been tasted by the Contest Commission: this award has consolidated its importance and it is an annual point of reference for local producers and a showpiece for the winners.
The Tasting Commission for the evaluation of the wines entered, headed by Mr. David Mustaro, was composed of representatives of FISAR, oenologists and teachers. The parameters for each wine category were: eye (color and limpidity), nose (intensity and persistence), palate (structure and balance) and aftertaste.
The Sangiovese di Toscana IGT Genius Loci 2010, the top wine of our Burchino Estate on the hills of Terricciola village (Pisa), ranked No. 1 in the category of Pisan area Aged Red Wines. It is an important result, especially because in local contests the wine judges have a deep knowledge of the territory, thus giving us a further confirmation of the high quality of the top wine of our Burchino Estate.
The FISAR Delegation of Pisa organized the award ceremony last Friday November 27th at Villa Poschi in San Giuliano Terme (Pisa) for a gala dinner during which the winning wines were paired with dishes of the Tuscan tradition.
