ProWein 2009 fixed in sights: "To another great year"

"To another great year" - a fabulous slogan that delivers what it promises, particularly for the forthcoming ProWein in March 2009. Preparations for the international wine and spirits industry's top event are already running at high speed: Whether optimally structured hall layouts, international tastings or the top-class supporting programme, ProWein fulfils the highest international demands year after year.

For weeks already, registrations have been coming in from around the globe for the event from 29 to 31 March 2009. Already clear is that ProWein 2009 will again attract all relevant international wine-growing nations and regions to Düsseldorf. Among these are overseas regions from America, Africa and Oceania, as well as the well-known wine countries in Europe that use ProWein to open up new sales markets. "The comprehensive assortment, combined with a clear focus on the business, are important success factors for ProWein. Thus Düsseldorf will once again become the primary meeting point for the international wine and spirits industry," explains Messe Düsseldorf Managing Director, Wilhelm Niedergöker.

The dynamic pull of this leading trade fair for wine and spirits draws visitors and exhibitors from around the globe into its spell. ProWein 2009 again expects roughly 33,000 international trade visitors and more than 3,000 exhibitors from all pertinent growing regions. The offerings at the upcoming event are appropriately attractive, including the central tasting zone with approximately 1,000 international wines for market-relevant themes; a multi-faceted special delicatessen show, "Wine's Best Friends"; numerous tastings and presentations; and glamorous evening events…ProWein delivers a professional working platform for business at the highest level.

The spirits segment offers trade visitors valuable suggestions regarding assortment composition with a trenchant offering - particularly from smaller distilleries with unusual spirits and specialties.

A further highlight is the interaction with selected partners from the cream of Düsseldorf's gastronomy trade and wine retailers under the motto "ProWein Goes City" - already an international institution since its second implementation in 2008. Its most outstanding feature: While admission to the trade fair is strictly limited to trade visitors and exhibitors, "ProWein Goes City" takes place after the trade fair closes in all parts of Düsseldorf and is open to all wine lovers.
