New experience in Portugal- Amazing 100% Chenin Blanc Connections - Available soon

Award winning winery Herdade do Moinho Branco, owned by partners Portuguese/South African Mario Pinheiro and Portuguese Nuno Bico working alongside Paulo Laureano, have created a new and exciting addition to their range of fabulous wines; the introduction of the very versatile, hugely popular Chenin Blanc varietal , which produces exceptional, food friendly wine. Chenin Blanc, a French grape originating from the warm Loire valley grows extremely in the comparable climate of the Alentejo region of Portugal, as well as the vineyards of South Africa.
Mario’s passion for Portuguese cultivars will never diminish; he knows they are amongst the finest in the world. However, having experienced the excellent wines that Chenin Blanc produces in his native South Africa, and having the perfect terroir at his wine estate to let them flourish, the grape has become irresistible to him. Initially grown as a ‘Limited Edition’ wine on a small parcel of land on his Vidigueira estate for family and friends; it has been so well received he has decided to sell a small quantity to a wider audience, so they can share and appreciate the enchanting wine he has created.
Chenin Blanc, when made correctly, has mouth-zingy acidity and mineral flavours, making it the perfect cleansing wine. The finest Chenin Blanc offers high acidity combined with a touch of viscosity; with flavours of melon, pear, stewed apricots, citrus, green apple and vanilla.
The dry and off dry wines are a wonderful accompaniment to curried dishes. The flavour of this wine takes away the curry’s heat, tames the fury of the spices and brings out the true flavours of the dish. The acidity associated with this wine pairs up extremely well with tomato or rich cream sauces, as well as many protein dishes.
