Escudo Rojo introduces its new elegant packaging, and complements its master blend with a new range of five single varietals and one rosé wine.
Escudo Rojo was born in 1999 from the encounter of Baron Philippe de Rothschild's long-standing winemaking expertise and the unique Chilean terroir. Escudo Rojo wears today a flamboyant new packaging, adorning its elegant tapered bottle with a coat of arms featuring the “R” of Rothschild, and a handwritten explanation of its name. Indeed, Escudo Rojo refers to the historic emblem of the Rothschild family as the Spanish translation of the German “Rote Schild”, meaning "Red Shield".
Escudo Rojo is a blend of four grape varieties grown in the most famous valleys in Chile, including the 63 hectares owned by Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile. Combining Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah from Valle del Maipo, and Carmenere from Valle del Rappel, this smooth and fruity wine shows intense aromatic complexity, good structure, fine balance, and a long finish.
To complement this famous blended wine, Escudo Rojo is now a complete range which includes 5 varietal wines: Carmenere, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and a rosé. Coming from the best terroirs in Chile, they each epitomise varietal character and elegance.
Escudo Rojo will delight people seeking out quality wines, curious to discover new tastes, and looking for unique experiences.
