ProWein Fair belongs to the biggest and the most popular wine trade fairs in the world. In 2007, there were more than 3 000 exhibitors from 43 countries and more over than 32 000 experts coming to the fair. „Hundreds of guests visited the exhibition of the Czech Republic during three days. “That´s why we can say that the exposition was really successful. Moravian and Czech wines were also shown in the ´wine-tasting area´. Several winemakers also got credits for their products,” said Pavel Večeřa (Wine Fund) who actively participated at the ProWein Fair.
Nowadays, grapes are cultivated on the area of 18,750 hectares in the Czech Republic. There are two main regions in the Czech Republic focused on growing grape vine: the wine region Moravia and Bohemia. The wine region in Bohemia is concentrated in two sub-regions, Mělník and Litoměřice. Moravian region takes up 96% of all national graperies and consists of four sub-regions: Znojmo, Mikulov, Velké Pavlovice and Slovácko. The whole annual production reaches about 600,000 hectoliters of wine and the consumption is constantly growing. The Czech wines are nowadays estimated for their quality not only in the Czech Republic, but they are the frequent winners at the international wine competitions. Particularly the last year 2007 was rich for the Czech wine evaluations – the Czech and Moravian wines were awarded at VINITALY, AWC Viena, MUNDUSvini or Monde Selection Brussel.

The vineyards of 32 ha in area are located at the wine-growing region of Velké Pavlovice. The vineyard grows in a mixture of sandy and clayey (wind-laid loess) soil. The Family Winery pays close attention to the quality of selected grapes, and as the fresh graduate of the Geisenheim University, Germany, the young wine-grower René J.
