A must for every specialised retailer: The Culinary Special Exhibition “Wine’s best friends” at ProWein 2009

Delicatessen and wine are the definite dream team for every epicure. The culinary special exhibition “Wine’s best friends“ at ProWein 2009 shows which culinary delights the market has to offer. Especially for the specialised retailers amongst the ProWein visitors, the product range at the gallery in hall 6 is a real insider’s tip. Here, they will find not only a plethora of interesting ideas for product line design but also a host of information on the individual products and their interplay with wine. “The special exhibition is a true treasure trove for all specialised retailers who wish to surprise their customers with new ideas and who are interested in providing well-founded advice,” Danila Avdiu, Director ProWein summarises the successful concept of the Special Exhibition “Wine’s best friends”.

The content of the special exhibition was conceived by the magazine “Der Feinschmecker”, produced by the German publishing house Jahreszeitenverlag. “ProWein offers the ideal framework for the introduction of culinary delights that go well together with wine. The response of trade visitors has been very positive, and one could not imagine the leading trade fair without the Special Exhibition, now in its third year,” says Dieter Braatz, Acting Editor-in-Chief of “Der Feinschmecker” magazine.

About 30 well-known producers and importers are participating in this year’s presentation “Wine’s best friends”. In addition to the finest olive oils, aceto balsamicos and pâtés, one will find delectable jams, gourmet sauces, precious chocolate creations or unusual spice pastes. Among other things, wild hibiscus blossoms in syrup from Australia, olive spreads from France or herb crisps from England are being introduced. In connection with the Special Exhibition, there will be daily training sessions, for example olive oil tasting, spice seminars on the topic of salt and pepper or presentations on the topic of wine and chocolate.
